There's no such thing as a free lunch. One way or another, we always end up (or start out) paying. And payment is not necessarily in money. Plenty of things are paid for by loss of freedom or ability to think, absorption of propaganda, or toxic content. Let those who wish to produce media arrange payment in the way they will and let the rest of us keep plenty of salt for taking many pinches of over the course of our lives.
