Depends on the sort of film.

Comedy/ Horror/ Documentary, at home on DVD/mp4.

Fantasy/ Science fiction/ Superhero, in a cinema.

Musical (esp. jukebox musical), at a drive-in, especially the ones where they let you dance. Saw Mamma Mia when i was married like this, and everyone got out of their cars and danced. So much fun.
