Drive-ins were never a thing this side of the Atlantic. I haven't been at a cinema for at least 20 years. Even when I was younger I thought they were too damn loud, fast movement on the big screen sometime seemed blurry, and people were a distraction with their talking, rustling of food wrappers and smelly junk food. (Why can't people sit through a two-hour movie without turning it into a picnic?) Apparently standards of behaviour are much worse these days - a multitude of glowing phone screens in my peripheral vision would irritate the hell out of me. So I'm definitely in the "at home" camp. |
