Mere Fraction of Time A half empty bottle of Jamison A full shot glass, shaking in her hand A pistol with the chamber open A new box of shiny bullets before her A distraught woman filled with despair In that moment, she relived the horror In that moment, her body shuddered In that moment, a stark realization struck In that moment, she tossed the shot glass In that moment, she snapped the pistol chamber shut Never again, will she be a victim Never again, will her husband rape her Never again, will she hide the bruises in shame Never again, will she allow the system to fail her Never again, will she look at her daughter and say it's okay When it's not okay! |
