India had this cultural-exchange arrangement with different countries. So we'd get free passes for some fantastic shows.
We had to stand in queue at the cultural centre and each person got only two free passes.
Well - that cultural centre happened to be opposite where I worked so I would peep out my window and as soon as I saw it open I'd take a gang of my colleagues with me and we'd run across.
We'd each pick 2 passes and those who didn't want to go would give them to others (me! me!)
The best I remember was a puppet show where there was this life-size DRAGON there on stage and he ate a man, right there on stage, and then the man re-emerged. They had no black outs or dimming of lights or anything like that, I dunno how they did it.
It was 30 years ago and I still remember it vividly. I'm not sure which country it was, vaguely recall it as Czech, but I could be mistaken.
