I am an introvert who has to act like a extrovert to earn a living. I find it exhausting and rather ridiculous, but it is what it is. When I am out in public but not at work, I do not go out of my way to interact with people. My RBF is legendary. When people approach my husband and me, they always talk to him because he looks a lot friendlier than I do, even with his long grey hair, beard, and Harley clothing.
Anyway, people assume when I am in my extrovert mode at work that I am super friendly and want to chat and joke with them. Mostly, I don't, LOL but I do because that's part of customer service.
