"Nine's a Crowd" 

As I said on the blog, this branch is being improvised almost in real time before your very eyes. Because there is no plan, and because I am admitting ahead of time that there is no plan, I'm launching a commentary thread at the start instead of at the conclusion, in case I have any thoughts I want to share as the thing develops.

And it's also here if readers want to share their own thoughts as it progresses.
