What do you make of kindness as it's expressed online?

Kindness expressed online to me means posting something out of kindness; happy birthday, well done, or even a thank you. Doing a kind act and telling people online that you did this act is not what I consider kindness, it's just sharing. Perhaps in some cases just for a topic to write about, or to inspire others to do kindness; there could be many good reasons as well as some not so good.

I see a lot of kindness expressed right here on WDC.
