Question of the Day!

It seems critical thinking is the subject of the day. I find in every day thinking that people actually misapply things they hear.

A recent example. NBC released a report about the way the helicopter pilot and airplane pilot in the recent DC crash responded which made it apparent that the helicopter pilot may have deliberately run into the airplane. The helicopter pilot responded that he saw the airplane. then veered into it and brought it down. After investigation reported. that the plane the helicopter pilot saw was very likely a different plane, it made the scene totally different in context.

Earlier in my life, I was disgusted to see reports by journalists at a major accident in the USA. When I watched ABC, NBC, and CBS reports they all reported different amounts of people dead. In a journalism class I asked how they could all be so far off of the mark in the incident; since reports varied from 2 to 11 to 30, depending on what news media I watched. The instructor commented they simply report what they are told by the source. When watching media reports you want to take into account the source of story and also the time when the story goes out as to the time the story happened,

Life happens use some sense when you read or even hear the reports.
