There are two authors who come to mind: C.J. Box for his Joe Pickett series and the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child (although it's been just his brother, Andrew, since 2020). Pickett's stories generally take place just a few hours up the highway from me, so there's that local attraction to go along with the writing. A former supervisor at work started me off with Reacher, and I've not been disappointed yet.



A favorite handle overlaying a US Army shoulder patch I proudly wore for many years.
