In the summer we have a pileated woodpecker that hangs around for the suet my wife puts out. If the suet feeder is empty it will land on the deck and knock on the door until we come out. It then flies to the tree the suet feeder is in and make piping calls until we refill the feeder. If we don't and go back in, it will repeat this until we fill the feeder.
