Okay, really, the most dangerous animals, the ones that kill the most people and cause the most injuries, are dogs. Pet dogs.
Animals like cassowaries, the big kangaroos, emus, etc., avoid human habitation because we tend to eat them. No native bird or mammal has killed a human in over 40 years. Injutred? Sure. Killed? Not for a while.
Snakes and spiders, there are anti-venemes for all but one spider (white-tipped), and so, from what I can gather, barely three people this century have died from snake bite and 5 from spider (whereas in 2022 alone, more than 20 people died from dog attacks).
The most dangerous indigenous animals are:
The stonefish
The banded coral sea snake (there is an anti-veneme, but as you're in the water, it is harder to get to help)
The box jellyfish
The blue-ringed octopus
The Great WHite Shark
The irukandji (the deadliest of the lot)
But what kills the most people? People. Like everywhere. Of course, our homicide rate is really low compared to the US and UK, but it is still there.
