Apparently, before I was even school age, I watched the original King Kong movie and threw a tantrum when the ape got shot. Make what you will of that. The earliest visit to the cinema for which I have some vague memories was for Disney's Jungle Book. When I was a teenager, I read Asimov until it was coming out my ears before moving on to Stephen King.
