Clackers! I didn't own any, but I had friends who did. We knew there had been cases of the balls exploding, we would talk about it every time someone brought out a set to play wtih. Maybe it added to the fascination because honestly they were a dumb, boring toy. The were literally plastic balls on strings that were clacked together.
