I'd have to agree. I'd far prefer my kids to be reading almost anything instead of being on social media, which is wildly more toxic and more likely to point kids in the wrong direction than most books. I was reading Stephen King in grade 7, at school, for quiet reading time. I didn't go digging up cemeteries, go on serial killer sprees, or go searching for mystery. If anything, it had the opposite effect, where I was like, "hell, no, I am not wandering into the field to see what that noise was. I KNOW HOW THIS ENDS." |
