My SIL is facing prison time real soon and I want his sentence to be about punishment. He is a highly educated man who thinks he's smarter than everyone and above the law. I'm fairly certain he knew he was doing wrong but chose to hurt my grandchildren and daughter anyway. A few things I've read about these types of offenders is they can't change, (hence the sex offenders list). So, can rehabilitation do any good? For some types of criminals maybe but doubtful for others. Sorry, I can't be empathetic. |
