Starting a story
So, we are starting OctoPrep, and the plotting, with a "what if..?" opening.

I have already seen some chatter about ideas and where they come from.

So, at the risk of self-promotion, I looked at this briefly in my writing blog: "20240119 Where (My) Ideas Come From" .
And here are some other ideas about starting: "20240601 Story Ideas" .

I know it's not much, but every one of the 3 works I am looking at doing for NaNo this year have come from "what if..." scenarios. What if an Australian cryptid was real? What if fairies were real? What if a demon summoning ritual actually worked?

Very simple ideas, and we will have to see how they go in their development over the course of November (I am a pantser), but the ideas are already there.
