Yes, it is obscure what is going on. It has to be, because Will in this branch has hardly any conception of masks and stuff, so there is not going to be enough evidence presented to indicate what is REALLY going on.

It is best to read this branch with NO preconceptions about the technicalities of what is going on. You'll just confuse yourself further.

Speculate, yes. But don't read it with a theory already in mind.
