Is it a "you" problem or a "me" problem? That's what I always ask myself when I get a review like that. I've tried explaining my work to someone who didn't seem to get it, but it's usually like explaining a joke: even if you manage to clarify, the writing loses some of its punch. So, these days, I just let it go with a "thanks."
