Relatively unsupervised (and outdoor) play time. It's so common these days for parents to monitor their kids every second of the day. And sometimes that's warranted and I'll admit I do it too... but so much of growing up is about interacting and learning from your experiences. It's hard to see some kids that never have more than a few moments without a parent correcting them, or stepping in to help them, etc. It makes it really hard to learn things like self-sufficiency and problem solving when you have someone always waiting in the wings to make sure you don't go too long without someone intervening on your behalf to smooth things out.
