Question of the Day!

After contemplating which book to be trapped in for 30 days, I finally settled on The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J. R. R. Tolkien. This was a straightforward choice for me, as I have always loved the vivid and complex world of Middle Earth that Tolkien created. Spending a month immersed in this fantasy epic would be an absolute dream.

Just picturing myself transported into The Fellowship of the Ring pages excites me. I don't care about Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin or their journey out of the Shire. I Do not care about the beauty and peace of the Shire or the looming darkness taking over Middle Earth; I am only there for a month. Hopefully, it is one of the early months in this 30 year quest.

Oh My! What a "Biscuits and Gravy" high, three breakfasts and double teas. Roasted critters from late afternoon until bedtime snack… yes, count me in.

And then, there are all those scantly clad Fairies, Elves, and forest Nymphs to investigate, query, and examine, at least, in my pursuit and interest of their tails. Oh, did I spell that wrong? I guess it depends on one's meaning of "Intent."

Wait, wait, I can't say that. My attorney admonishes, "One must never admit to any intent." So, I offer the invoking of all my constitutional amendments as a shield for my muse and I: (Rainey can lead me far astray from the usual-self.)

The real question to be answered before I can provide a candid reason for this book choice is… "Does anyone get to read the book while I am inside?" If so, who, because my decisions about personal conduct might suffer if the shelf that holds the book is not within reach of my loving wife? While the latter is never a question in the real world, one cannot-- but wonder what they might do if cast as the villain.
