vivacious posted a question on bookface "Do you have a favorite Bible verse?" Hers is Ecclesiastes 7:13: “Accept the way God does things, for who can straighten what he has made crooked?” I responded: I think 'favorites' give insight into another person. My fav colors of orange and green may not say much... but it's a good ice-breaker! My fav book of the Bible is Ruth, and that tells you much more. In the NT I like James. As a Baha'i my favorite verse for the last 50 years has been: O SON OF THE SUPREME! I have made death a messenger of joy to thee. Wherefore dost thou grieve? I made the light to shed on thee its splendor. Why dost thou veil thyself therefrom? - (Hidden Words of Bahá’u’lláh - Arabic #32) A message of acceptance I'm still working on as fear has been a lifelong barrier (more issues with light than death). |
