On Winter

I like the snow,
except when on the walk,
or when it's icy like a rock.
It's pretty, though.

I sat, quite warm
and watched the snowflakes fall,
until the calm became a squall,
a nasty storm.

I long for Spring,
an end to winter chills,
tulips, crocuses, daffodils.
Of those I sing.
