Question of the Day!

I've seen a few grim hellholes in my time in Britain and abroad, but if we rule out common-or-garden urban blights, one city I was totally underwhelmed with as a tourist was Venice. Dirty, noisy, crowded and all-in-all a big let down. To be fair, a lot of that was due to tourists (of which I was one - wouldn't holidays be great if all those tourists weren't in the way? ) but, even so, it was not an inspiring experience.

After that first visit on my own, I was back again on holiday with a group and it just re-affirmed my initial impressions. It would have to be a damn good reason to get me back there a third time.
