Having spent hours reading (or trying to) the legislation regarding Tree Preservation Orders I have decided an element of poetic licence is called for. The tree is a common field maple, other varieties not being readily available in UK in 1879.
As to preparation I am in the fortunate position that I have carers to take care of meals and housework anyway. The only thing I need to do is tell my grandson he cannot use the laptop for a month.
Normally a bit of a pantser, this time around I am using substantial outlining to try to achieve the wordcount.
