October Novel Prep Challenge

Consider looking up some Cherokee customs, traditions, and beliefs to add more flavor to him. Maybe his home and/or office have something traditional in them. Maybe he has an unusual (for others) native greeting. Perhaps he enjoys cooking traditional food from his childhood when he's stressed or he seeks out nature. Look into Cherokee culture and traditions and see what you find. BTW, there's a good chance he doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving and some people even get offended when you say, "Happy Thanksgiving." Bit Maybe he celebrates something none of his friends do.
