Couple on the run relying on the authorities to catch the bad guy. Nice location set up for the story and clever use of cake as surprise message for the girl. I was sure the cake box was going to explode when she opened it…but was trying to put that together with why the guy would stand so close. So you created a moment of tension in the last sentence for this reader. Thanks for sharing.
