I have gotten quite a few email responses and of those, two say we should go ahead with commissioning the awardicon set and all the others have said we should probably wait, at least until after the 1st of the year. Everyone is so focused on NaNo and the Holidays, they really don't have time to participate much in the group right now, but several have said they will be more active in the new year. Someone also brought up two very good points we should all consider. It is not free to give these awards out. Every time we give the medal on a ribbon it costs the group 175K and each time we give the other award, the plaque it costs 225K. Just something to consider. Perhaps we should have a plan on how we will fund that before we get the awards. Also, we need a plan on how these awards will be used. Obviously, the ribbon will probably be given most often, but what will each of the awards be given for? Will they be sold or used for fundraising efforts? What will people have to do to earn them? Will they be used as prizes for specific goals/missions accomplished? If we are to get an awardicon set, we do need a plan on how they will be used. Suggestions on this are encouraged and welcomed. You can post here or email me. Please give this matter some consideration. ALSO, we need suggestions on which NM image to use for the awardicons. That also must be taken into consideration. Your opinions on this is important and encouraged as well. Do we want to use one of the images we've already used for the merit badges or, do we want a completely different image?
