writer seeking advice

I have set up my professional site, registered with directories, sent marketing emails, applied for writing jobs, updated my FB and LinkedIn sites, studied SEO, etc. but success still eludes me. I am studying content writing and marketing but still have no clients. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to jump start my biz. Thanks so much.
