Strange fingers reach for the sky
Each digit an expression of chill
silver glints, one wonders 'why?'
looking closer, we see the frill
snowy ice will simply cling and sigh
bearing the weight for good or ill
the dark branches moan and cry
that icy beauty that can break and kill
