October Novel Prep Challenge

In my backstory, this is not addressed obviously, but the main character purchases an ancient book (inciting incident) when the trouble begins. In order to understand what's going on (mysterious phenomenons in their lives), they travel to China to investigate. With the help of a professor, they engage in this journey where monsters from the book appear. They have to fight and conquer them in order to solve the riddle presented in the book. (conflict). Then they are able to save their city.

There was not so much a problem other than that I wasn't that interested in the main character. Now I know he is a male escort this changes my perspective on him and on the story. So, I just am super pleased about this development.
