The Ziggurat is a poetry form invented by Massachusetts poet Paul Szlosek in honor of Poetry Month. The structure consists of fourteen lines divided into four stanzas, with line structure based on words instead of syllables: The first stanza has two lines with two words in each line. The second stanza has three lines with three words in each line. The third stanza has four lines with four words in each line. The fourth stanza has five lines with five words in each line. Each stanza contains a different monorhyme, for a pattern of a,a/b,b,b/c,c,c,c/d,d,d,d,d, as described and demonstrated in the following link: https://playground.poetry.blog/2021/04/12/invented-poetry-forms-the-ziggurat/ .
