Protagonist Goals
In "Action/Adventure Newsletter (September 30, 2020), Storm Machine Author Icon defined literary adventure as a change in a character's everyday routine. This makes me think of The Hobbit, and how Bilbo Baggins just wanted to live out his life in his little hobbit hole in the Shire and not be bothered. He wanted no part in adventure, despite the promise of his fair share of the treasure to be found at the feet of Smaug the Dragon. But after sleeping on it, he decided to accept the call to adventure anyway.

Analyze Bilbo as a protagonist.
- what are his flaws?
- what are his goals?
- what conflict keeps him from his goals?
- who is his antagonist?

Cheers,
Michelle
