This is where we will spotlight a WDC Friend in Need. A friend in need can be anyone in the community who might need some cheering up whether it's due to mental/physical illness, work or financial stress, loss of a loved one, breakups, or any other difficult time in life. Be on the lookout for writers in our community who could benefit from some extra support! Please use this survey to nominate WDC members for this spotlight: "Invalid Item"
Good question! There are so many things you can do to show some support for our friends in need. Here are some ideas, but don't limit yourself to these! Read and comment on their blogs. Send something shiny their way (MBs, awardicons, raffle tickets, GPs & more). Read and review their WDC items. Check in on them with a cNote, email, post in their notebook.
You were nominated by the WDC community as someone who might need an extra dose of love this week. If you'd prefer to be left alone during this time (totally understandable!), please just send me a private email or instant message and I will remove you from the spotlight.
A discussion topic will be posted here every Sunday. You don't have to stick to this discussion topic in the forum, but if you're looking for a place to jump into the conversation, this is a good topic to start! Make sure you read and respond to other people's posts too! It's mutually beneficial to stay engaged.
Have you ever strongly related to a book or movie character? What about their personality or storyline did you see yourself in? Do you write your characters as a reflection of yourself?
A weekly creative writing prompt will be posted here every Sunday. You can use it to write a poem, short story, blog entry... whatever it sparks! If you want, you can post your finished work in the forum as well. Maybe you'll get a review!
Let these prompts spark or guide you: “When something is finished, it cannot be possessed. Nothing can be possessed but the struggle.” ~ Flannery O'Connor Misdirected anger.
