Re: Form of the week: Kwoa?
The structure consists of six couplets (two line stanzas) followed by a tercet (three line stanza). The first four plus the sixth couplet feature the same rhyme scheme ab. The first line of each of these couplets contains ten syllables broken by a caesura in the middle, and the second line contains six syllables.

The fifth stanza intentionally breaks the pattern with no rhyming and syllable counts of nine and five.

The last stanza has syllable counts of five, five, six, and a rhyme scheme of xab, where x is unrhymed.

The Blue Vase
By Lisa Noe

Some may call the vase a blue and white urn,
Ashes cause me concern.

When you died you wanted to stay with me,
Now your soul is set free.

Your body of ash sits on my mantel,
Your pain none could handle.

Once beautiful blue eyes looked up at me,
I wonder what you see.

Loved you like no one could ever know,
And you loved me too.

Now you are gone and I miss you so,
You are in Heaven.

The vase reminds me,
We were together,
I will remember.
