Outline it, go scene by scene, to test if you have enough material to separate into three balanced parts. It will help you clarify the piece in your own head. I usually do my outlines in three or four levels
I. Chapter or Segment Title
          A. Character pov for scene 1
                    1 Main points to hit in each scene
                              a. dialog or details for each main point
