Form of the week: Scallop

Scallop is a poetic stanza form invented by Marie L Blanche Adams. It consists of any number of six line stanzas with syllable counts of 2, 4, 6, 6, 4, 2 syllables per line and a rhyme scheme of abccba deffed ghiihg etc., as demonstrated in the following links:


Looking for help

I’m seeking aid
Looking for someone’s help
Pain resides within myself
For days I’ve laid
No hook

Five days
Every month
I’m sick to my belly
Throwing stuff up smelly
Doctors on hunt
They say

No cure
