Hey, Tink! Great point! I like what you said about using our arsenal of words to soothe our tender egos. We have weapons. Yes, we do! Personally, I feel that many "creative types" are way too sensitive for their own good. There's some sort of negative stereotype being perpetuated out there that one must be "emotional" in order to be an artist. Sure, criticism hurts -- even to "thick-skinned" folks like me -- but that's the price of "growth" and "maturity", methinks. We're all works in progress, and critiques are what help us polish our art form. If the delivery of a review is harsh, but the points raised are reasonable, it's actually in the best interests of the writer to "get over themselves" and learn from the feedback.
