Been through some similar things and I did what I’d do for this idea: I’d fight it tooth and nail.

I fought it WITH a permit requirement because I do not think the level of instruction is rigid enough. I’m 76 and grew up with guns and I do NOT believe that the majority of people are capable of doing what’s required to be safe with them, let alone really understand what they’re holding in their hands.

How often do fights occur between teens? All the time and every day. Understanding how volatile teens are when angry do you really want to tell yours that they can’t go to that dance or party knowing they’re carrying?

If you’ve ever told your teen son or daughter they can’t go to whatever and had them turn to you and scream “I HATE YOU!” in your face with theirs screwed into a mask of hate that can frighten demons you’ll get it.

Are there exceptions? Yes, but they’re few and far between.

I don’t think the vast majority of “Adults” fare any better in that estimation.
