Motivate yourself to conquer your goals this week! Post on Monday; update us on Friday! |
This week didn’t go quite as I’d hoped writing wise, but I still did a good bit so I’m proud of that. 1) Write an average of 600 words a day. — I did write everyday so I’m definitely taking that win. Unfortunately, with my family right over my shoulder and constantly asking me questions or trying to read over my shoulder, I just couldn’t concentrate on writing, and that was when we weren’t running around touring stuff. We were touring from before dawn to after sunset every day this week and it just wasn’t possible to get much time in for anything else. I got super seasick on Tuesday and had a hard time recovering and then Wednesday was balls to the walls and then Thursday night I injured myself and I’ve spent all day today uncomfortable and struggling and basically I’m a total mess. Tomorrow I’m going to the doctor, but writing, just didn't get done. I know those are “excuses” and I hate excuses, but I can’t kill beat myself up for not killing myself either. 2) Take at least one photo for every tourist day on my proper camera, not just my cell phone. — I did this, I spent a lot of time with my camera this week. I didn’t go manual, but I did play with some of the settings and the focus and got a better feel for some of the concepts. I won’t really know how my photos turned out until I get them off the memory card and onto my computer, but I’m excited to see how they turned out. I think some of them are going to be really nice. 3) Brainstorm ideas for my October story. — I have a couple of story ideas here. I still want to get Sharon and Natasha closer in my one series, I would kind of like to show the growing relationship between Lori and Jaxx on their station, and on one of my tours they mentioned an arranged marriage festival where this famous guy uses old, traditional stuff to match up people who come to him and want to get married. I mean, how amazing is that? I think it would be so much fun to write some sort of queer love story with this guy in mind. I need to do a little research and I’d likely write something that’s “inspired by the idea of this” rather than be about that exact guy and that exact festival in that particular town. I do think it nearly writes itself though. Arranged marriage? Ugh yes. It’s got marriage of convenience shit written all over it. Not sure what will be my “official” October story yet. Or if I’ll change my mind all together and write a halloween story instead, but I’m glad I have the creative juices running in the back of my mind. I hope everyone had a good week and their weekends will be amazing! |
