Discussions At The Garden Bench

Usually when I write my first draft I get the ideas written and then return to the writing after being away from my writing for a while. When I return to edit my work it is not new, but I am removed from it enough to be able to look at it from the view point of an editor. Many times I need to create second, third, and even fourth drafted of my word art. Yes, writing is an art form. It is a lot like painting. We use words to paint word pictures of ideas so that the reader can immerse himself or herself into the story. As I edit I look for the misspelling, punctuation placement, sentence structure, tenses, and other aspects which will add to or take away from the word art. Writing is a process.
