The comma issues may be resolved by considering taking the Comma Sense class after completing the grammar classes which Ms Pat teaches.

Readers pause at different places in sentences, so placing a comma where a reader pauses is not always a good guide for proper comma placement.

Consider for example the use of a coordinating conjunction which joins a phrase and/or clause. You would use a comma before the coordinating conjunction.
