1. I found one LY adverb, "friendly". 2. I'm not sure if I want to say that the imagery was diminished or just different because of the lack of LY adverbs. 3. Easier, I guess. But it also seemed rougher, a little more choppy. The flow wasn't quite right. 4-5. I chose a story from my portfolio just to see if I had a lot of LY adverb use. Out of almost 3,000 words, nine of them were LY adverbs. For most of those, I couldn't just remove them - I had to change the words I used, otherwise the story wouldn't have flowed properly. (<-- hey, LY adverb right there, too...) Though there is one sentence where I don't think I could remove or change the LY adverb. But what do the rest of you think?: "Surely he'd let me do that." 6.
