In whichever item you are using, if the word protagonist or antagonist is throwing you off, just use your characters' names instead.

We all do the prep the way it serves us the best. For example, I don't like to write up physical features on people. Instead, I use photos, which I do not put into the item here but I have them in my computer.

In short, you can do the prep the way it fits your needs.
