October Novel Prep Challenge

My concern is whether my story is long enough to be a novel. I know that 50k words is actually more a novella size, but still, I might not have that in me from this story-line. I'm doing the same thing as last year, but I see from my prep (only did 3 days) last year, that I was apparently planning a much better idea. But I just don't see it. I know it started from my smaller idea. But maybe I decided this idea was too small, so I decided to expand it? Who knows what I was thinking a year ago. lol Maybe I'll write the story and then if it's not long enough, write more before the story. Or, like last year, maybe I'll just quit.
