Getting the amount of dialogue tags right is quite a challenge, but it's still disappointing when a pro hits far of the mark.

As for jumping to the last book in a series, I would never do that. If the series is that good, then I feel like I'm missing a lot by not reading all of it -- even though it might take years to get through it all. I'm looking at you Steven Erikson.
