Re: Re: Wow Everyone is doing great
Some people are posting in a log every day right now because they are taking part in a challenge to prepare for NaNoWriMo. The October Prep Challenge involves having items on WDC and updating when assignments are done. For the actual, novel writing event in November, you don't have to post your writing in a forum or anything. You can have your book in your portfolio (set at private if you don't want anyone to see it) if you would like but it's not required.

I store my novel on here as a form of backup in case something happens and I lose part of the writing or the file somehow.

Self publish is a little different animal and there are more variables involved. I'd just do a little research and look at what people recommend as far as how much to have posted online and visibility. But for right now, you'd probably want to worry more about the writing aspect as you don't often publish right after NaNoWriMo since the novel still needs work in rewrite and edits. Some might, but for the most part it's recommended to take time away from the novel and work on it more later before taking the publication steps.

Hope that helps.
