For the Princess

She slips into the perfect dress,
becoming Mommy and Daddy's Princess.
Before the mirror preening, a giggle
as lacy blue skims the floor with each wiggle.
A golden crown on auburn hair
brings forth smiles to share
with play-lipstick added with care.
A turn, a curtsy and waving, she's gone
to perform for Mommy and Daddy alone.
Prancing, dancing, giggling
as little princesses do,
then loving and kisses
with three words, "I love you."
