I'm just looking for ideas and perspectives. I've been listening to a lot of fiction and considering how the heck they do it.
For example, I've dipped in to the crazy world of Song of Ice and Fire fan theory, there are 2+ hour discussions of 50 minute episodes, endless examinations of every detail. It is stunning the depths that readers will go. Stunning and daunting.
Then I listen to Ender in Excile, Orson Scott Card's midquel in the Ender's Game Universe. Card's book is about genius kids (the genesis of my question) and thinking about these things I occasionally think it wears a little thin, but then Card isn't best at presenting genius, he's best at tugging on heart strings so that before you can really get annoyed by a fraying in the fabric of genius child you are emotionally involved.
But again, this is daunting.
SO, thanks for contributing to my thinking. Hopefully we can both benefit from more people who have run up on this, which sometimes makes me worried about my writing.
