I lie awake,
at the magic hour of midnight
and marvel at the one who has
replaced the one I loved

The lover I knew so long ago
is only a whisper in your eyes
and a dream of my empty heart
An echo fading all too quickly

For she is imprisoned,
lost in the edges and corners
that make up the maze
of your facade

I lie awake
in reality of the cold morning
listening to the sounds
of a heart.....letting go
